First Reconciliation
Preparation for and the celebration of the sacrament of First Penance and Reconciliation typically happens in Grade 2 or a child's second full year of Faith Formation. We invite you to read more about this sacrament on the website for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops: here.
Preparation for the sacrament is an important part of our Family Faith Formation program. Children wishing to prepare for and receive First Penance and Reconciliation should be enrolled in our full school-year Faith Formation program.
The Diocese of Buffalo directs that a child should complete a full program year of Faith Formation learning before receiving the sacrament of First Penance and Reconciliation.
If your child has not yet received a full year of Faith Formation learning, or is beyond Grade 2 but has not yet received this sacrament, please get in touch with the Faith Formation team. We would be happy to work with your child (and family) to prepare for and receive this grace-filled sacrament! (716) 634-3130 ext. 333.
Ceremonies: Ceremonies dedicated to the celebration of First Reconciliation will be held in late January and early February. The ceremonies are typically held late morning or early afternoon on Saturdays.
