Nativity Refugee, Immigrant, & Migrant Ministry Sets up 2nd Apartment for a Refugee Family

Thank you to all of our Nativity parishioners and members of our Family of Parishes who contributed many items of furniture, apartment furnishings, as well as gift cards etc., for our parish effort to create another home for some of our newest neighbors here in Buffalo. Many of the items were collected during the Diocesan Day of Caring in late October. That's when furniture items were dropped off, collected, sorted, as well as picked up and transported to a rented storage facility near our church.

Then we wwaited until we received a call from our Journey's End Refugee Services that an apartment was secured and a family identified. We didn't have to wait long this time becfore that call was received. The word sent out seeking members of RIMM and others to assist in the preparation of a new apartment home on the East Side of Buffalo.

Saturday, November 12th began the move from the storage facitlity to the new East Side apartment. Three members of Canisus ladies college softball team assisted with the clean-up and move.

Many thanks to all the members of our Nativity RIMM team, Family of Parishes donors, and Canisus young people for putting the Gospel message into practice and creating a home for a new family. "When I was a stranger you welcomed me. . . . What so ever you do for the least you do to me." Matthew 25:35.
